Conversion of the marketplace underground parking garage in Sindelfingen
We are delighted that after 6 years of planning, the Mayor of Sindelfingen, Dr. Bernd Vöhringer, has symbolically initiated the conversion of the underground car park under the market square. He chiseled away a piece of concrete column with a hammer drill. The result will be a modern underground parking garage and a completely redesigned market square surface with water features. A budget of 38 million euros has been earmarked for the project, which is scheduled to run until 2028. From a technical point of view, the conversion can be seen as a new building. The parking spaces will be widened, electric spaces will be provided and yet the number of existing parking spaces will only be slightly reduced. This is possible thanks to the elimination of the numerous sheathed wooden supports, which additionally stabilized the structure in the middle of the parking decks and acted like a forest of columns.
