"I was able to do a lot on my own right from the start - and when I needed support, there was always someone by my side."

I don't sense any male dominance at MVD. We have a very open and appreciative culture. And during my research work, I learned to be self-confident and to believe in myself - that is respected. I see a better balance between women and men for the next generation of civil engineers.
After my time at university and research, I had a perfect introduction to the concrete planning of construction projects. I was involved in exciting tasks right from the start. My suggestions and ideas were taken seriously, many of my ideas were adopted or developed further in the team. That gives you a lot of self-confidence.
During a BORS internship in an engineering office, I was fascinated by the drawing, construction and dimensioning of projects. That was when I made my decision. After my secondary school leaving certificate, I studied civil engineering.
The feeling of standing in a self-designed and constructed building for the first time was indescribable for me. So my tip: pay attention to the strategy, the experience, the variety of projects and the opportunity to get involved. Don't focus so much on the benefits, but rather on the diversity of the projects, the experience and the openness of the office.
Sustainability and resource conservation are the dominant themes today. The construction industry is at the center of this. The construction of a building and the type and quantity of building materials used have a decisive influence on sustainability and future viability. We civil engineers can also identify potential and contribute ideas in the revitalization of existing buildings. This requires doers who think ahead, are open-minded and create something new that is good for the world. It's all about asking the right questions and finding constructive answers.
Enjoy modeling, designing and measuring. We attach great importance to creative solutions and independent thinking and action. This also includes a willingness to take responsibility. After all, our work ensures the safety and durability of buildings. In a nutshell: enjoyment and passion for our work.
New employees are integrated into projects very quickly and can take on responsibility. The range of projects is broad and the wealth of experience is readily shared in the collaboration. This allows you to get involved early on and grow with your tasks. The trust that is placed in MVD is particularly valuable.
