Arnulfpark MK3 Kontorhaus

With its overall dimensions of approx. 170 m x 35 m, the Kontorhaus completes the last construction site along the new urban edge of the "Arnulfpark" quarter in Munich. The construction site is located directly north of the main railway station tracks. Here, the high-rise building with its 12 upper storeys and three "pinnacles" towers above the 3-storey block. The structure continues underground with 2 parking levels and a technical level below.

The main requirement for the supporting structure of the Kontorhaus was the conception of the greatest possible flexibility in the floor plan design, in conjunction with the implementation of representative and striking architecture. By using prestressed reinforced concrete flat slabs, it was possible to dispense with the usual rows of central columns and realize free ceiling spans of up to 13 m with a ceiling thickness of only 30 cm. In the high-rise building, for example, floor levels of up to 750 m² were realized without internal columns. Particular attention was paid to the storey-high arches made of white exposed concrete, which, with spans of 21 m, open up the inner courtyards to the park side.
