New comprehensive school Sindelfingen Maichingen

The new two-storey L-shaped school building is characterized by its dark clinker brick façade, which blends in well with the surrounding buildings in terms of colour and design. The interior is characterized by warm woods on the floor and the façade as well as by differently structured exposed concrete surfaces.

The supporting structure was planned and built as a flexible reinforced concrete skeleton construction.

The load-bearing dolomite stone benches are located approx. 2.5 m below ground level. A beam-like foundation grid was developed as an economical foundation, which transfers the foundation loads to the load-bearing dolomite stone benches at certain points via lean concrete lower guides.

To create a column-free refectory, the flat ceiling of the refectory was prestressed with unbonded monostrands.
