New Ludwigsfelde Rescue Station Building

The new Ludwigsfelde rescue station, featuring parking spaces, rest areas, administrative offices, and training facilities, is divided into two buildings. A vehicle garage with five parking spaces and a wash bay, which faces directly onto Straße der Jugend to ensure rapid deployment of emergency personnel. Adjacent to it and connected via doors and passageways is a three-story section constructed with a reinforced concrete frame. The design of the new rescue station is aligned with the transformer building located to the north. The facade consists of brick in a brown-red hue, combined with other materials such as steel and glass. The vehicle hall (34 m x 10 m), featuring transparent folding doors and horizontal bands of windows, is a modern and contemporary building that blends appropriately into the sensitive surroundings.

The roof of the vehicle hall is constructed with precast trusses and prestressed concrete hollow-core slabs; the 30-cm-thick flat slabs have a standard span of 8.00 m. Loads are transferred via wall beams to individual columns, and the structure is supported on individual and strip foundations.
