State Representation Baden-Württemberg

The Baden-Württemberg representation is located in the embassy district in Berlin's Tiergarten, just a few minutes from the Bundestag, Bundesrat, Federal President's Office and Federal Chancellery. The modern building presents the state and its "embassy" in the German capital in a bright, open and inviting way. The white cube, invitingly designed with a funnel-shaped incision, impresses with its coherent architecture. Lots of air and light and large cantilevered areas characterize the architectural work - technically implemented by complex spatial supporting structures made of prestressed concrete and steel.

A system of prestressed wall and ceiling panels allows the third floor with two apartments and the roof terrace to float freely above the outer entrance area. Above the entrance hall and patio in the interior, the complex integrated, partially prestressed wall girders on the 3rd floor allow freedom from columns and a cathedral-like spatial and lighting effect. A spatial steel structure spans the ballroom, suspended at points from four cantilevered wall panels.
