Factory 56 of Mercedes Benz AG

New construction of a partially multi-storey assembly building, building 56, with a rectangular and triangular floor plan, with overall dimensions of approx. 620 m along Benzstrasse by 420 m. Gross floor area approx. 199,000 m².

Hall: Predominantly single-storey, approx. 12 m high assembly hall with prefabricated reinforced concrete columns in a grid of 28.80 m x 14.40 m, with partial basements for technical centers.
Roof construction of steel truss girders as main and secondary girders, sandwich façade on steel substructure, basement in reinforced concrete in some areas.

Head building: Five-storey reinforced concrete construction with office, social and administration areas as well as test stands and supply facilities.
Facade in some areas with prefabricated reinforced concrete elements made of concrete with 100% recycled aggregates ("R-concrete") on the basis of a project-related building permit / approval in individual cases.

Central assembly sorter (ZMS, car body storage) as an 8-storey car body rack.
Designed as an approx. 26 m high high rack in silo construction with sandwich façade above an intercepting structure ("concrete table") in reinforced concrete with prefabricated prestressed concrete trusses. Floor area approx. 5,700 m², total height of the warehouse approx. 37 m, capacity approx. 1,000 painted body shells.

The building is connected to the plant's production flow by newly constructed conveyor bridges. The bridges, which are approx. 600 m long in total, are predominantly two-storey steel truss constructions, supported on steel structures with various foundation variants, partly on and through existing structures.

Preparatory terrain adjustments "Landlevelling" as the 1st construction phase: terrain jump stabilization with bored pile walls and reinforced concrete angle retaining walls; shafts and supply channels permanently embedded in the groundwater.
