Dresden

Local court

With the new district court building planned as an extension or annex to the existing regional court, a coherent judicial center has been created in Dresden-Johannstadt. In connection with the transitions between the old building and the new building, the integration of historical facades as well as structural conditions and underpinning measures had to be taken into account in the planning. The 8-storey reinforced concrete skeleton structure was founded on a solid floor slab to minimize settlement differences. The basement was planned as a "white tank" with the highest requirements for use as an archive and technical area. The column- and beam-free realization of the large courtroom through a spatial supporting structure as well as the low number of load-bearing components inside the building ensure a high degree of sustainability and flexibility in the use of the building.
